Yoga Teacher and Your Important Role in Health

Know Your Scope of Practice and How to Speak Confidently when addressing yoga student health and modification questions.

As a yoga teacher, you are an important public figure, community leader, and hold an assumed position of leadership and power. This is not figurative, this is your literal role in your community once you begin leading classes, whether you embrace this of yourself yet or not. Accepting the magnitude of this is the important first step in embracing the power your words have on your students.

This class will prepare you for how to appropriately address health questions, concerns, and specific ways to address individual questions about modifications. You will immediately have the skills to lead a class with language that supports safety, and best communication practices for between classes.

We will discuss common health conditions, anatomical alignment considerations and language to empower navigating individual physical structure types, hyper and hypo mobility, as well as scope of practice and using legally appropriate language in guiding students in finding their unique practice.

This class combines lectures, with opportunity for questions to be answered, as well as exercises and activities that engage comprehension and integration.
